Depart from JFK New York at 6:05 pm on Alitalia #605.

Sept. 15

Arrive in Milan, Italy and continue on to Lamezia Terme, Calabria, arriving at 11:35 am. Bus to Soverato on the Ionian Sea and check into our hotel. Enjoy an afternoon of leisure, and then meet for a "Welcome" cocktail party and a relaxing dinner.

Sept. 16

Full day excursion to the resort town of Tropea, on to Vibo Valentia and Pizzo Calabro, have some “tartufo” ice cream, visit the beach-side church of Piedigrotta with its many statues carved out of tufa rock. Dinner at our hotel.

Sept. 17

Morning of leisure. Stroll the shore or walk and visit the weekly flea market. Afternoon departure for Badolato. Stilo, and the medieval town of Gerace, with the largest church in Calabria. Return to our hotel for dinner

Sept. 18

Full day excursion to Catanzaro, Sila Piccola and the picturesque Villagio Mancusso. Dinner at our hotel.

Sept. 19

Full day of leisure, sunbathe, visit with relatives. Dinner at the hotel.

Sept. 20

Morning departure for tour of Roccelletta, and Le Castella. Return to our hotel for a special “Calabrese” dinner and folklore show featuring traditional Calabrese songs and “tarentella” dances.

Sept. 21

Morning departure for Sorrento. Meet our guide for a tour of the excavations of Pompeii. Dinner at the hotel.

Sept. 22

Morning departure by ferryboat to the Isle of Capri. Sightsee with our guide or take an optional visit to the Blue Grotto, weather permitting. Lunch on the island and return to our hotel for dinner.

Sept. 23

Morning departure for sightseeing in Napoli and Reggia di Caserta. See Mt.Vesuvius. Dinner at our hotel.

Sept. 24

Morning departure for Roma. Tour the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and the ancient buildings and piazzas of The Eternal City. Dinner at our hotel.

Sept. 25

Guided tours of the Vatican City. Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica. Dinner at the hotel.

Sept. 26

Morning departure for Assisi and Perugia. “Farewell” dinner at a typical Italian restaurant with entertainment.

Sept. 27

After breakfast, bus to the airport for Alitalia flight #610, leaving at 1:20 pm and arriving at JFK at 4:40 pm.
